There’s a virtual Thai food festival coming to the UAE this month

Those craving a taste of authentic Thai food won’t have to venture far to get their fill this month.

The Royal Thai Consulate-General in Dubai is hosting the Thai Food Festival 2021 from Monday, March 1 to Sunday, March 21. In keeping with the current circumstances, the festival will be mostly online, held under the theme “New Normal”.

It means that UAE residents will be able to enjoy some authentic eats without having to leave the house. With Thai Food Delivery Week, diners can order Thai food from select restaurants on Zomato from Sunday, March 7, to Sunday, March 14, and Talabat from March 7 until Sunday, March 21, and enjoy special offers, discounts and giveaways.

Want to learn more about Thai cuisine? Dubai vlogger Alex Augusti will be taking his followers through some of Dubai’s hidden gem Thai restaurants and feature hard-to-find dishes.

Finally, those tagging the Royal Thai Consulate-General’s social media platforms when trying Thai food, or expressing their love for it, stand a chance to win prizes.

For those who don’t mind venturing out, Thai Restaurant Week will be taking place from Monday, March 1 to Sunday, March 14. Eighteen participating restaurants across Dubai and the Northern Emirates will be giving complimentary tom yum soup (with orders over Dh150), chef’s special menus, offers and the chance to win giveaways from the Royal Thai Consulate-General.

Participating outlets in Dubai include Benjarong Dusit Thani Dubai, Cafe Isan JLT Cluster B, Mango Tree Thai Bistro, Miss Tess at Taj Dubai, Spicy and Ginger at Bay Square and Wise Kwai at Dusit D2 Kenz. Thai Gate branches in Ajman, Khor Fakkan and Ras Al Khaimah are also participating.
