In today’s world, seldom do we speak about mental health, or even take a moment to address it. However, Dubai-based theatre group The Junction has stood up to speak about the much-relevant topic through their latest play—Every Brilliant Thing.

The play written by British playwright Duncan Macmillan and comedian Jonny Donahoe and presented by H72 Productions talks about love, life, and family that addresses a very important and relevant subject –mental health.

The play is a beautiful journey of a mother and her son, who tries to do every possible thing to make his mother happy, thus, addressing the topic of mental health.

The play is a narrative of a seven-year-old boy who seeks to help his mother who is battling chronic depression. The little boy embarks on a mission to do every brilliant he can think of that makes life worth living from ice cream, coffee, the smell of rain, and so on. As the son grows, his list does too.

As the play progresses, the audience is also drawn in to contribute to the progress of the narrative, thus giving you a message that will allow you to see the beauty of life even on your darkest of days.

The play will be accompanied by live music that promises to enhance the play-watching experience and also remind people about the importance of relationships and bonds that help us get by on the not-so-bright days.

Acted and directed by Gautam Goenka, the play will be staged on September 2, 3, and 4, from 7.30 PM onwards at The Junction in Alserkal Avenue.
