The Heat: interview with presidents of Sierra Leone and UNGA

The coronavirus pandemic, intensifying climate change and a global economic downturn all topping the agenda at this year’s United Nations’ General Assembly.

We will talk to the president of this year’s UNGA and also an interview with Sierra Leone’s president Julius Maada Bio. We spoke about a wide range of issues, from climate change to COVID-19 to relations with China.

With the number of global deaths from COVID-19 approaching five million, this year’s UN General Assembly is taking place at an unprecedented time.

The world is also grappling with climate change and a slowing global economy.

Correspondent Xu Dezhi sat down with Abdulla Shahid, president of the 76th UN General Assembly, to discuss those issues.
