The 45th session of the Council of Arab Youth and Sports Ministers, chaired by Egypt, kicks off

On behalf of His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, Minister of Sports, His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Sports, Badr bin Abdulrahman Al-Qadi, headed the Kingdom’s delegation in the meetings of the 45th session of the Council of Arab Youth and Sports Ministers, held today in Cairo.

At the conclusion of its 45th session today, the Council elected its executive office for the next four years, headed by Egypt, and the membership of: Saudi Arabia, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Tunisia, Algeria, Iraq, Palestine, Kuwait and Libya.

The Council approved the draft resolutions submitted by the Executive Office, which included the establishment of the Arab Festival for Women’s Sports in Algeria during 2022, the organization of the Conference in Support of Al-Quds Al-Sharif in Palestine, and a session for legislation and sports regulations in the occupied State of Palestine this year.

The Ministerial Council also endorsed the theme of the Excellence Award for Arab Youth for the year 2023 on “Artificial Intelligence”, and approved Egypt’s proposal to organize the “Nile Ship for Arab Youth” during the current year in Egypt, and the Algerian Ministry of Youth and Sports to organize the Arab meeting on encouraging entrepreneurship among Youth, and the extent of their contribution to the development of the economy of the Arab world, during the current year.

The Council thanked the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for organizing the eighth Holy Sites Journey program for the youth of Arab countries this year, and also agreed to organize the Arab Youth Empowerment Program in Saudi Arabia during the current year.

The Ministerial Council assigned the council’s technical secretariat to prepare an Arab strategy for youth, peace and security during the year 2022, between the council’s 45-46 sessions, and to ask countries to provide the technical secretariat with their experiences to guide the preparation of the strategy.

The Council also approved the organization and hosting by Egypt of the activities of the simulation model of the Arab Youth Parliament in 2022, and the establishment of the Arab session on “The Role of Sports in a Healthy Lifestyle for Individuals” in Jordan this year, and the establishment of the Embassies Football League under the slogan “The League of Arab States Cup” for the current year in Egypt.

The Council agreed to launch a competition for youth to design a logo for the Council of Arab Youth and Sports Ministers, emanating from the Arab League logo, and to launch virtual envoys for Arab youth “Tareq and Belqis”.

The Ministerial Council urged the Arab countries to promote and support volunteering and participate in the events and events organized by the State of Qatar, on the occasion of organizing the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
