Taj Exotica, a ‘unique’ luxury hideout in Dubai

The new Taj Exotica Resort & Spa, The Palm, Dubai, caters to luxury living on the Palm Jumeirah and brings its own unique and distinctive offerings to the city.

“Taj Exotica offers an experience that is unmatched, and we look forward to welcoming guests to the resort so they can experience it for themselves,” says Ranjit Phillipose, General Manager – Taj Exotica Resort & Spa, The Palm, Dubai and Area Director – Middle East, The Indian Hotels Company Limited.
The property brings exceptional Indian hospitality, culinary journeys, wellness and relaxation to the shores of Dubai.
The resort comprises 258 rooms and 67 suites, all featuring balconies. Designed by Hirsch Bedner Associates (HBA), the resort is inspired by its beautiful location, including the sea and the vivid sunsets. Guests entering the resort’s lobby are welcomed by the striking Signature Design Diamond Flow Chandelier by Preciosa, featuring over 11,000 crystal pieces, a product of more than 3,000 hours of traditional expert craftsmanship, which really sets the design tone of the whole resort.
Guests are taken on a sensorial culinary journey across the resort’s seven dining and bar options. With everything from contemporary Indian fine dining at Varq, a unique gastropub experience at the Roaring Rabbit, and the stunning lifestyle destination of Raia Rooftop Bar & Lounge offering panoramic views of Palm Jumeirah.
The resort also boasts the largest pool on the Palm Jumeirah, measuring just over 70 m. Guests can also enjoy the private 230-m exclusive beach with pristine golden sands and uninterrupted views of the glorious sunsets.
The hotel features the award-winning spa, JIVA. Inspired by traditional healing methods, the ethos of the carefully curated Jiva treatments is drawn from the rich and ancient Indian wellness heritage.
“One of the signature treatments that has been specially curated for us is the Imperial Dahab, an indulgent experience for deep nourishment and glowing skin. Guests will indulge in an aromatic footbath, a heavenly scalp massage, and a unique camel milk bath, followed by a luxurious massage using 24k gold oil,” says Phillipose.
The resort’s key feeder markets are the UK, Germany, US, GCC and India. “With the Taj brand being one of the most recognised and prestigious hotel brands in India, the property is positioned to attract high business volumes from both our loyal and new guests, across the leisure travellers and wedding destination segments,” he says.
“Travel is slowly reinstating itself, and 2022 is going to be a transitional year. Tourists now travel less often and prefer to stay at one destination for longer periods of time. The effects of the pandemic have also led to more family travel, with members from different generations traveling together in a bid to make up for lost time spent apart during lockdowns. Bleisure (business and leisure) is here to stay for the immediate future, where guests initially travel for business and extend their stay at a location for leisure,” says Phillipose.
Speaking on the unique features of the property, he says: “Taj Exotica Resort & Spa, The Palm, Dubai is the first of its kind in the UAE and Middle East. The destination is unique in several ways in its offerings to anything on The Palm. All rooms feature balconies and stunning views of Dubai’s skyline and Palm Jumeirah and are designed with the guest’s true relaxation in mind. The resort feels like an idyllic island getaway through its subtle ocean elements in architecture and design.”
Top suites include the Exotica Suite Sea View with Open Jacuzzi, designed for luxury and exclusivity, with incredible views of the Arabian Sea. Along with a large bedroom, the suite features a living and dining room, kitchenette, powder room, and luxury Hermès bath amenities.
Spanning 500 sq m, the four-bedroom Presidential Suite allows for complete privacy with uninterrupted views of the Palm Jumeirah and the Arabian Sea. Along with four large bedrooms, the suite features a separate dining room, kitchenette, powder room, balconies, luxury Hermès bath amenities, as well as Noritake crockery.
“A major attraction for our young guests is the Popsicle Kids club, where they can enjoy a variety of activities to keep them engaged and energised. In addition, our Game Room provides entertainment options such as air hockey, board games, billiard, and a foosball table,” says Phillipose.
The resort features two expansive Royale ballrooms and multiple meeting rooms that are ideal for conferences, social events and timeless weddings.
“Taj Exotica Resort & Spa, The Palm, Dubai is truly a resort that has something for everyone. Whether you’re looking for a romantic or family getaway or wellness destination to truly unwind, there’s an immersive experience for everyone,” he adds.
