Nerve zapping tech helps people overcome pain at Abu Dhabi clinic

Several techniques including meditation and yoga have been recommended for ages to reduce bodily pain and to increase physical endurance, which shows how strength of the nerves is essential for holistic fitness. The rise of technology in healthcare has taken existing methods of treatment, and combined them with solutions like AI, to scale up the efficiency of medical care beyond imagination.

Apart from telemedicine and predictive analysis backed by algorithms, healthtech innovators have decoded the use of brainwaves for providing relief from migraines and disabilities. After digging deeper into the human mind, a clinic in Abu Dhabi is now relieving chronic pain among patients by stimulating nerves, as an alternative to use of medication.

The method uses an implant which sends out electric current into the nerves that run along the spine and reach right into the brain. By targeting them, doctors are able to bring down pain in the lower back, knees as well as the neck, and can also ward off frequent headaches or agony caused by hernia.

Not only does the method do away with dependence on painkillers or other medication, but it also provides long-lasting relief without any surgery or lengthy recovery process. Once the electrodes are inserted under the skin, light electrical pulses are passed into the body to locate the nerve which controls the pain.

After the treatment starts showing its effects, the patient is empowered with a remote device which allows them to zap the nerves whenever they need, with the intensity that they find appropriate. This treatment is 50% more effective in providing relief from pain, and is started after tests to determine the source of the discomfort.

Two patients have been treated at the Cleveland Clinic in Abu Dhabi using this method, and they are already reporting significant reduction in chronic pain.

Before this, implants that zap the nerves have also been used in the UAE to help patients deal with seizures, by sending out pulses to relax the brain.
