From the brilliant film festivals to the exciting art exhibitions, to the great food options, Dubai’s Alserkal is always buzzing with activities. While the art gallery is always at the top of its game when it comes to art, Alserkal is going to get even more exciting.
Come September, Alserkal is welcoming a new gallery —Volte Art Projects which will open at the Avenue between 1×1 Art Gallery and Ayyam Gallery. It also plans to bring big-name artists into the Dubai art scene, making it a bigger hub for art.
With the opening of the new space, the new place is expected to see around three exhibitions per year. The programmes would be a diversion from the regular monthly schedule of gallery exhibitions, but this also leaves room for the reduced amount to have an even higher impact.
While excitement brews amidst art fans, the first show at the Volte is expected to be centered around the intersection of art, nature, and technology and includes artists from Europe, South Africa, India, and the United States.
Originated in Mumbai and founded by Tushar Jiwarajka in 2009, Volte Art Projects have shown a mix of international artists, including Wim Delvoye, James Turrell, William Kentridge, and Nalini Malani.
Volte’s programme in Alserkal Avenue will have a typical monthly schedule of gallery exhibitions, opting for a reduced amount of around three per year with higher impact. The place aims to bring impactful quality shows, with both established names and emerging artists, to the new Dubai digs.
