A short film made in the UAE recently brought light to the country’s first female delivery rider. We all know our friendly delivery rider – ensuring that we get what we order at the right time. Mostly, these professionals who hop on a bike any day (and in any weather) are men. But women too are also playing a part.
In the video below is Gift, a manager for local pizza chain in UAE. Apart from being a manager, she also hops on the bike to deliver pizza. Why you ask? Well, according to her, it’s not because she has to, but because she can. She moved to Dubai from her native Nigeria to get a job and support her family.
Talking about her experience as a rider, Gift says: “Delivering food is not just about delivering to people. For me, it’s an opportunity to be part of someone’s day.”
