Jos Verstappen Heading For 24H Dubai

Dutch national media reports have revealed that ex F1 driver and 2008 Le Mans 24 Hours LMP2 winner Jos Verstappen is set to race at the 2022 24H Dubai in January together with Thierry Vermeulen, son of the manager of his F1 driver son Max Verstappen, the effort most likely in a new Porsche 992 911 GT3 Cup.

If Verstappen races it will be his first international outing for a decade after last contesting a race in 2012, this the Baku City Challenge in a BMW Z4 GT3.

Vermuelen, joined by Bashar Mardini, Ivo Breukers and Luc Breukers gave the new 992 version of the 911 GT3 Cup its global endurance race debut in the 2021 24H Barcelona and came home with a class podium. Verstappen Snr was on hand in Barcelona in the lead-up to that race coaching Vermeulen.
