Organisers of this year’s conference in Dubai, scheduled for March 3 & 4 2021, have said the event will not take place as planned.
Event organisers, Invigors EMEA, said in response to a record daily surge in coronavirus cases across the United Arab Emirates, the Dubai authorities ordered hotels and restaurants to temporarily suspend live entertainment from 21 January.
The event was scheduled to take place at the Jumeirah Creekside Hotel, Rebat Street, Dubai
In a statement, Invigors EMEA said: “We already heard from several delegates that attending the conference was not an option because of travel policies, quarantines after having visited Dubai and other valid arguments.
“To avoid any difficulties for all delegates attending the conference and to make sure that all delegates will be safe and healthy, we had to take the decision to postpone the Lease Conference Dubai 2021 till later this year.”
“Although the Lease Conference Dubai was structured as a hybrid conference (in person as well as virtual), we were informed by several delegates that the current situation stopped them from coming to Dubai.
“To make this hybrid conference really work we do not only need people participating from their homes or offices all over the globe but also people participating in our venue in Dubai, and unfortunately, the latter was not possible.”
“We deeply regret this decision but given the current circumstances, we hope and expect you understand this decision.”
People who have already registered and paid for the conference will be contacted directly with respect to the registration and the refund of payments for the event.
Invigors EMEA said it would release details about the new dates for the conference, now expected to take place in October/November 2021.
