INDONESIAN PAVILLION NOW OFFICIALLY OPENED AT 2020 DUBAI INTERNATIONAL EXPO

THE INDONESIAN Pavilion at the 2020 Dubai International Expo is officially open from October 1, 2021, to March 31, 2022, to showcase Indonesia’s myriad facets to visitors worldwide.

“I welcome you to Indonesia, a land full of hospitality and opportunities,” Trade Minister Muhammad Lutfi stated at the opening of the pavilion in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, on Friday local time.

Lutfi believes that every world expo marks a new global era, so Indonesia is honored to be part of the historic event this year.

Through the event, Indonesia will showcase its capacity, commitment, and contribution to creating a better place for the future through the theme of “Creating the Future, From Indonesia to The World.”

Meanwhile, Indonesia’s culinary arts on display at the event comprises a wide array of delicacies, such as chicken satay, meatballs, various native types of coffee, as well as spices, which have contributed to the nation’s trade sector since long.

It is in line with the concept applied by the Indonesian Pavilion of “Connecting Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow,” so visitors learn more about Indonesia’s past history, present progress, and future readiness.

In addition, the pavilion was built based on the concept of unity and diversity. It is decorated by various patterns of batik cloth that displays Indonesia’s cultural heritage. During the expo, Indonesia will present 26 weekly themes and over 75 business hybrid forums supported by 22 ministries and agencies, local governments, and corporate partners.

Moreover, products of over 300 small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are being promoted at the pavilion to encourage Indonesia’s 64 million SMEs to compete in the global market. The minister expects Indonesia’s participation in the 2020 Dubai Expo to attract investors and boost the volume of domestic trade in future.

“The expo is a hope that marks a turning point in global recovery. We will utilize the momentum to overcome challenges that have arisen over the last two years,” he added. [antaranews]
