DOHA: Oman Air will operate up to 48 daily flights from Muscat carrying up to 3,400 fans during the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, Eng Abdullah Al Raisi, Chief Executive Officer of Oman Air said on Thursday.

Speaking to The Arabian Stories on the sidelines of a ceremony held to announce daily match day shuttle flights from GCC countries to Doha, Al Raisi said “seamless service” will provided to football fans during the World Cup. “This will be considered as a domestic service and we are partnering with Qatar Airways to bring football fans on a daily basis and bring them back after the match on the same day,” Al Raisi said at the Four Seasons Hotel.

“The service will be applicable only for those carrying World Cup match tickets,” Al Raisi added.

Qatar Airways CEO Akbar Al Baker said Gulf based airlines would operate more than 160 daily shuttle flights to Qatar during the soccer World Cup. Oman Air from Oman, Fly Dubai from UAE, Kuwait Airways and Saudi from Saudi Arabia would operate shuttle flights.
