Cote D’Ivoire’s President Ouattara in isolation after contact with COVID-19 positive individual

Cote D’Ivoire’s President Alassane Ouattara is in isolation after coming in to contact with a person who has tested positive for COVID-19.

“Having been in contact with a person who has just been declared positive for COVID-19, President Ouattara has decided, following the health recommendations in the matter and in accordance with government provisions, to put himself in confinement,” a statement from the presidency reads.

President Ouattara at the same time, urged the general public to go ahead and get vaccinated while continuing to respect the barrier measures aimed at fighting against this pandemic.

Cote D’Ivoire has so far recorded 50,657 positive coronavirus cases, 49,645 recoveries and 332 deaths.
