Morocco: the world Bank projected an economic growth of 2.9% in 2019 and 3.5% in 2020


(Agence Ecofin) – The world Bank has estimated that, on 8 January, as the growth of the moroccan economy is expected to slow slightly in 2019 to fall to 2.9% from 3.2% in 2018.

“The expected growth in 2019 will be driven by economic reforms undertaken by the country and the improvement of the tourist activity.”, emphasized the institution in its report on the outlook for the global economy.

“In 2018, a harvest abundant agricultural and business conditions as favourable tourist have contributed to the growth in Morocco, which reached 3.2%.”, a-t-she added.

For the medium-term prospects, the world Bank expects the GDP of Morocco recorded a growth of 3.5% in 2020 and 2021.
