The Inspector General of Police, IGP, Mohammed Adamu, has assured Nigerians that the police force was unrelenting in the fight against insecurity in the country.

Speaking at the 2019 Biennial Convention of the Nigerian Guild of Editors, NGE, holding at the Airport Hotel, Ikeja, the IGP acknowledged the challenge of insecurity in the country but said the police was doing everything within its power to deal with the issue.

Adamu, who was represented by the Force spokesman, Frank Mba, said: “So much is being done covertly by the police to tackle insecurity in the country.

“The Police is doing everything humanly possible to fight insecurity and we will surely navigate through this trying moment in our national life.”

Adamu appreciated the contributions of media professionals in the fight against insecurity and solicited for their continued support.

Earlier in her welcome address, President of the Guild, Funke Egbemode noted that work had begun at the Guild’s Abuja property and that by the end of the month the Guild would have completed payment of the N33million for the land without borrowing.

Egbemode assured members of the Guild that their account was buoyant.
