Hides and skin business has been described as an occupation that boosts Nigeria’s economy and provides employment opportunities that enhance self-reliance at both rural and urban areas.
This was stated by Malam Ibrahim Mohammed, a hides and skin dealer in an interview with our correspondent in kano, where he announced that over 60% of the Nigerian economy is from their occupation which remains an international business as seen for quite a long time.
Malam Ibrahim added that many unemployed persons of all categories are now self-reliant through the hides and skin business, while most local tanneries are now working day and night due to the availability of the materials.
He called on the Federal Government through the ministry of industries to come to the aid of hides and skin business for national economic growth.
The dealer finally assured that hides and skin dealers would continue to provide more employment opportunities to the growing unemployed persons accros Nigeria in order to reduce unemployment in the country with optimum results.
