The president of the International Federation of Association Football, Gianni Infantino, has arrived in Marrakech to lead a meeting of its executive committee. On the menu, the increase in the number of teams participating in the World as soon as 2022, as well as the amendment of the law of rotation, continental for the organization of the World.

In 2026 during the World Cup in the u.s., 48 teams will participate in the great mass of the football. But Gianni Infantino would like to convince the organizer of the World 2022, Qatar, to host him also, the same number of teams, contrary to what is expected, namely 32 nations.

Regarding the Global 2030, the president Infantino would be in favour of a nomination intercontinental, and, more particularly, ibero-moroccan. This would be a first, but this specificity does not exist in the FIFA regulations. Above all, it would go against the wishes of the UEFA president, Aleksander Ceferin, who intends to choose an application purely european.

The executive Committee will be held from Tuesday and until Saturday. Gianni Infantino is going to have to use all his influence to convince him that aims for a new mandate at the head of FIFA at the congress in Paris next June.
