The Botswana government will sign a memorandum of understanding for economic development collaboration with Rutgers University and New Jersey State University, both based in the United States, an official said Thursday. Secretary-General Carter Morupisi said President Mokgweetsi Masisi will chair the signing ceremony of the memorandum of understanding scheduled for 15 February.

According to Morupisi, the collaboration will focus on a number of strategic areas critical to the implementation of the Botswana National Development Plan by 2036, whose goal is to ensure "prosperity for all".

The memorandum of understanding provides for the establishment of a "knowledge center" in Botswana, improvement of the health system and skills of health personnel, leadership development and entrepreneurship.
