The gala dinner ceremony of the Group of Brides of Heads of Diplomatic Mission accredited in Côte d'Ivoire (Gecmd-ci), for the benefit of the poor, was held on Friday, February 08, 2019, at the Hotel Ivoire, Abidjan-Cocody , in the presence of the First Lady Dominique Ouattara, godmother of the event.
The Gecmd-ci, on this occasion, paid tribute to the godmother for her efforts in favor of the well-being of the most disadvantaged social strata. A trophy shaped like the five fingers of his hand was awarded to him to translate that.
"This evening would not have been possible without the assistance and daily support of a lady of honor and conviction, Mrs. Dominique Ouattara whose dedication, generosity and faith she puts to relieve the most vulnerable and making children and women smile are the expression of the nobility of his soul, "said Farida Bouguetaia, wife of the ambassador of Algeria in Côte d'Ivoire and president of Gecmd-ci.
She assured the First Lady of the commitment of the association that she chairs, with him for the volunteer campaign initiated by its Children of Africa Foundation towards the mother-child hospital of Bingerville, including children and women, and their involvement in assisting, at all levels, hospital services for the needy and those in great need. In relation to the actions already carried out by the Gecmd-ci, a humanitarian association, since its creation on November 12, 2015, its first manager has advanced purchases of a medical device for the Treichville hospital to treat children with cancer and of a surgical instrument stabilizer against the disease of name. She also donated materials to the Ministry of Health consisting of chairs and tables to equip two classrooms at the Yopougon Blind Training Center.
This gala evening allowed the wives of ambassadors accredited in Côte d'Ivoire to mobilize from donations and auctions, the sum of 11,300,000 CFA francs. This fund will be used to improve the quality of health and training of children and young people of Côte d'Ivoire in exclusion.
