Côte d'Ivoire: Government Reduces Public Procurement Timeframes as part of Social Program

(Agence Ecofin) – Côte d'Ivoire will reduce the time it takes to award public contracts under the government's social program (PSGouv). This was announced last Wednesday, Sidi Tiémoko Touré (photo) spokesman of the Ivorian Government.

The manager indicates that the timeframes for public procurement have been reduced to 51 days for open tenders and 40 days for restricted tenders. These measures constitute a departure from the regulatory standard that imposes a delay of 88 days.

The new measure should accelerate the implementation of infrastructure projects under the Government's Social Program.

The latter, estimated at 727,500 billion FCFA, covers the period 2019-2020.

Based on around 156 priority action projects, the program aims to " actively and sustainably improve the living conditions of the population ". This should include, among other things, the implementation of social safety net programs and the construction of many basic infrastructures.
