Algeria’s annual inflation falls to 4.1 pct in February

ALGIERS, March 23 (Reuters) – Algeria’s annual inflation fell to 4.1 percent in February from 4.2 percent the previous month after a drop in prices for some foodstuffs, official figures showed on Saturday.

On a monthly basis, the consumer price index dropped 0.5 percent in February, according to the data released by the National Statistics Bureau.

Prices for poultry and eggs fell 8.8 percent and 12.4 percent respectively, while the cost of vegetables rose 1.55 percent. (Reporting by Hamid Ould Ahmed; Editing by Louise Heavens)
